Paint
Decontamination

Does your paint feel rough even after its washed or looks more orange than white?

Chances are it has bonded contamination such as iron fall-out from the steelworks, mines or railway on the surface of your paint, other contaminants like tar, tree sap, bird droppings and bug splatter can also leave a lasting, unwanted impression.

Twenty3garage utilises a least aggressive first approach to everything we do to make sure whatever we do has the least impact on your vehicle, the decon stage is no exception!

After an initial thorough wash, dry and inspection,  we determine if a chemical decontamination, mechanical decontamination or both is required, using only the best and safest products to rid all the embedded nastiness from the surface, making it feel like glass and providing the best foundation for polish and sealants.

Think of it an exfoliation for your paint.

This step is often necessary prior to polishing and correcting and most definitely before any coating is applied, especially on older vehicles.

Unless the vehicle is coated, we always recommend at least a single stage, gloss enhancement polish after a decon has been performed to remove any light marring that the process may have introduced, but at the very least we will apply a spray sealant for protection, as any sealants, wax or toppers will be removed during the decontamination.
