A different kind of before and after today.
The polishing/coating/clean bay has come a long way since I got the keys 🔑 to 96 Essington Lewis....2 years ago this week. 😮 Cheers to that!! 🍻
This area of the workshop has proven to be an undeniable asset. Providing a space for completing polishing, coating and PPF jobs in a temperature controlled 🌡and dust free environment ALL YEAR ROUND! 🗓
The hoist is not just much nicer for the knees and back but provides better access to the lower sections of the vehicle, which are most prone to premature failure of coatings. Bringing the vehicle up to eye level, together with good lighting, ensures these areas get the same level of attention as the rest of the car. It also allows easier access to clean and dress wheels, brakes, tyres, inner arches, suspension and wheel and caliper coating applications.
The flooring and workstation was a recent addition and more improvements are to follow in this room so we can continue to provide a premium service to our clients! 😊 ...

Harley Davidson Night Train.
This highly customised HD has had some coin 🪙 thrown at it since the last time we seen it.
It's returned all the way from the west coast to get the full treatment.
Thorough clean & detail. ✔️

Cammo is the man!
If you want your car detailed, do not go anywhere else.
What Cammo just did for my 19 year old Camry "Katerina" is beyond belief.
If you live on the Eyre Peninsula, it's well worth the drive to Whyalla for his incredible skill.
Dad bought Katerina 2nd hand in his late 70's, they finally took his licence away when he turned 93. For 15 years he parked Katerina across the road from a beach, fully exposed to all the elements Kangaroo Island has to offer. He rattled around on dirt roads, scraped through bushes, hit kangaroos and had multiple bad parking incidents. There were cobwebs in every crevice, salt, sand, leaves, debris and dirt a plenty. You could not see the chassis from over a decade of dirt roads. There was enough grease in the door jams to service a Mack truck.
When dad gave Katerina to me, she looked like a battle weary tigress. The paintwork was so bad I considered a respray at one point. She was scratched and chipped from end to the other, front and back and her bonnet had been sprayed with gravel. There was some serious side swipe damage on the door and rear bumper. Despite it all, dad kept up the services and she still purrs like a kitten and only has 144 thousand on her metre. I promised Katerina a well-deserved all-inclusive spa and face lift.
I dropped Katerina off with a can of diamond white paint 061 as per the Camry specs and a universal white touch up pen. I air kissed Katerina goodbye and handed her diamante key ring into the "VERY SAFE" hands of Cammo.
I looked at him in earnest and said "I'm not unrealistic, do the best you can".
I was gob smacked when I picked her up. She looks like a million dollars. It is undoubtedly the best money I have ever spent on a car.
She looks brand new. Cammo has exceeded all my expectations inside and out, underneath and within. My neighbour and her daughter were equally gobsmacked. "It's like a different car they said" as they crawled eagerly through the inside front and back. They were equally gob smacked when I told them how much it cost for a remarkable transformation. "Is that all" they said with eyes and mouths wide open.
I say it again...."Cammo is the man"!
DO NOT consider any other detailing service on the Eyre Peninsula. ...

This 1955 F100 was completed a few weeks ago.
Some old compound residue was removed from the nooks and crannies, the whole rig was polished and every painted surface inside and out was coated in Nxtzen GSO2 multi-layer graphene, including the inner guards and firewall of the engine bay.
Wish they still made cars with this much style!! ...

But in the meantime I thought I'd share today's VY SS ute interior detail.
Years worth of grime and dust eliminated....now fresh, clean and protected.
The wheels were also cleaned from loads of brake dust and road grime build up. (No before pic unfortunately)
🗓 We're now almost booked for July and August is fulling fast with mostly coatings, so if you have thought about making a booking for any detailing or coating on your vehicles, don't delay to avoid disappointment. ...

Finally got around to setting up this little display in the office.
I only coated one side of this miniature bonnet in NXTZEN ELITE to show in real time the difference it makes.
With the wet season now upon us, who wouldn't want their cars coated?? 🤷♂️

A 2017 Mustang which previously had the black racing stripes removed from the bonnet, roof, boot, front and rear bars, leaving behind the adhesive residue and ghosting.
The almost 10 yr old paint was a little rough in places and lacking gloss and depth.

This one came in with a fair bit of work to do.
It had quite a few imperfections and swirls in the soft black paint... and someones failed attempt at a coating.
The previous coating itself had failed, but high spots of coating were left in many places over the vehicle.
A badge was removed from the tailgate and the vehicle returned to a swirl and scratch free high gloss. Then prepared and protected again with Nxtzen Ceramic Professional....with no high spots! 👌 ...

Steel built this town… and one man helped make it happen.
Essington Lewis wasn’t just a name on a street — he was the driving force behind the steel that put Whyalla on the map.

Right here in Whyalla, Essington Lewis Avenue stands as a reminder of that legacy — home to the Whyalla RSL and a street built to reflect on history, sacrifice, and industry.

Essington Lewis owned the very first Holden 48-215 — the car that kickstarted Australian manufacturing 🇦🇺
Just yesterday, as ironic as it is, I proudly handed the keys back to the owner of (sadly) one of the final cars to roll out of the Holden plant in Australia,....and what a tribute it was to what Australian manufacturing has/had become, with thanks to Mr Essington Lewis and our ANZACS!
From steel to streets to the cars we drive…
That legacy still runs deep, especially today.

I'm usually too busy and focused on the job to set up cameras and/or forget to grab my phone to record content before it's too late. 🤦♂️
I was also in need of a new pair of shades😎.... So a couple of weeks ago, I invested in a pair of Oakley meta glasses.
The Mrs hates them and they're too big for my face... but I don't care 💁♂️, they stop the sun and do heaps of cool sh!t. 🤭
I finally got around to testing them out on this badge removal during a coating yesterday and made a quick edit. 🎬

I've lost count how many Everests we've coated now. 💁♂️
I think this is the 1st silver one though 🤔, and how good does it look dressed in Nxtzen Graphene Serum!
The customer also dropped off a Ranger Raptor grille to be coated and installed later for a tough custom look.💪
The grille had sustained some scratches and marring from its packaging during transit, so its been polished, prep wiped and coated ready for pick-up!

It was humbling to be trusted to work on this beautiful '61 Holden EK Special.
This absolute museum piece is still in all of her original glory.
Very carefully, the "patina" was reduced down, without removing all of the character. Every bruise, bump and scratch tells the story of her 65 years of motoring history, which began when purchased from Mitchell Holden, right here in Whyalla!
A thorough clean and decon, white walls scrubbed and dressed, spats removed and polish of the paint and most of the brightwork was performed before the finished result was locked in and sealed with Nxtzen Ceramic Professional.
Having the privilege of working on vehicles such as this and doing my part to RESTORE - ENHANCE - PROTECT & MAINTAIN them is my passion and the reason I began detailing. ...

We thought this would be a great time to share this job we did a few weeks ago.
Foodbank Whyalla had some work performed at their premises on a breezy day. Their RAM 3500 and MOBILE FOOD HUB trailer got covered in a thermal paint overspray in the process.
Foodbank (and the third party company) entrusted Twenty3garage to perform a thorough decontamination to remove the overspray on both vehicles including the roof of the trailer.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Foodbank SA & Central Australia for their amazing and ongoing support they provide to those in need during these tough times, especially during Easter and holiday periods. 🙏
We felt privileged to assist with keeping these very important vehicles to look pristine and eye catching while carrying out the good work in the public eye and appreciate Foodbank Whyalla enlisting the services of a locally owned small business.

This SSV was purchased by a returning customer of ours just last week.
Plagued with gloss reducing swirls and minor scratches, making the Phantom mica paint look grey instead of black, they requested a paint correction to "make it look new again". We advised that it would be a great opportunity to get a coating on it....and so we did.
Full sun 🌞 photos tell no lies! 🤫 As these shots show, Twenty3garage is still the #1 choice for polishing and coatings in Whyalla and the Spencer Gulf... and we aren't lying when we say black cars are our specialty. ⚫️

Had a random request from one of our customers.
They had an issue with obtaining a spare tyre for their RAM to match the rest with white lettering.
We were asked if we could sort it out with painting the lettering.....💯% we could!
A fun little project that was out of the ordinary, and the result is spot on. 👌

The Twenty3garage team worked on this Caprice today.
Affected by our harsh Whyalla climate, the clear coat was showing obvious signs of deterioration.
A good clean, decontamination and polish had it free of oxidation, smooth and glossy again.
Topped off with NXTZEN's 365PRO for protection, deep gloss, hydrophobic slickness and and easy cleaning for around 12 months.

This GR Prado was coated by us last August in our base level, 5 yr coating, NXTZEN Ceramic Professional.
It gets alot of use, gets very dirty, and recieves minimal maintenance exterior wise.
It recently had some repairs done to the drivers door, front guard and bumper which required re-coating.
The difference is night and day, even during it's initial pre-rinse. The hydrophobics of the coating are still strong on the coated panels. Water clings to the uncoated panels....which means dirt clings and embeds itself into your paintwork over time creating a surface that's hard to clean and premature damage to the clear coat.🚫
Its a great demonstration of how a ceramic coating makes cleaning and drying alot quicker and easier without the constant upkeep and application of expensive, off-the-shelf products that only last weeks....not years! ...

This beast received our Glossy Gulf package over a couple of days.
It was looking a bit tired, presenting with lots of dog hair, dirty & dusty carpet, leather and trim, and badly faded and scratched paintwork. The new owner is in the process of returning it to its former glory....and one of the first steps was bringing to Twenty3garage to get an extensive detail inside and out, including the engine bay housing the 6.4L Hemi.
